Here we have a beautiful “The British Queen” hand-crank sewing machine, manufactured by the renowned Jones Sewing Machine Company of Guide Bridge, near Manchester, circa 1926.
The British Queen is an interesting variation of the famous Jones Family C.S., a machine celebrated for its excellent engineering, reliability and beautiful stitching. Jones manufactured sewing machines under numerous names for different retailers, with examples of The British Queen dating back to the early 1900s.
The name is believed to be a reference to Queen Victoria, making this a particularly charming example of British sewing machine history.

This lovely example has been professionally and meticulously restored and serviced by Vintage Sewing Machines UK, and ready for its next owner.
The beautiful gold decoration remains wonderfully vibrant. The original carrying case display the honest signs of age and use you would expect from a machine approaching its hundredth birthday. Please study the photographs for a full appreciation of its condition. It is beautiful.
