Owned by the same family from new, this stunning Jones machine (called Duchess by the family) has been very carefully looked after and is in beautiful condition.
Fully serviced by Sussex Sewing Machines, this machine is stitch perfect and ready to go.
Her Royal Highness Queen Alexandra was a keen machinist having several sewing schools under her patronage. She was the wife of King Edward VII (who rose to the throne after the death of his mother Queen Victoria).
Edward and Alexandra ruled the United Kingdom and British Dominions from 1901 to 1910, she was also Empress of India.
The British makers of Jones sewing machines were the only makers to proudly carry her name on them. Gaining Royal Patronage, Jones makers displayed HRH Queen Alexandra’s name on the front some of their machines during her reign, this is one of them!
Jones later became Brother Sewing Machines.
This superb central shuttle machine from that period is in stunning condition.
It comes with not only the beautiful original case and instructions but a host of extras including needles, attachments, thread, tools and of course the signed book in which this actual machine is pictured! You will also receive a VSMUK notepad (this machine is actually on the cover of our Jones notepads too!).
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a very special machine!
