A. Macintosh & Sons – Jones Family C.S

£999.00

Very early (circa 1895), rare Jones Family C.S model with roses painted on the bed and black japanned hand wheel.

Fantastic condition – 128 years old!

With this machine you will receive a signed AUTHORS PROOF COPY of the book – ‘Jones Sewing Machines – The First Hundred Yearsby Alex Askaroff. This copy is number 2 of 5.

This model was one sold by the A Macintosh and Sons agent in Cambridge.

Here they are on a staff outing in the 1920s.

This stunning Jones hand crank sewing machine was built around 1895, the same year that the Lee–Enfield rifle is adopted as standard issue by the British Army – incidentally a rifle that the Singer factory in Clydebank later made the number 4 mk2 bayonet for.

Fully serviced by Sussex Sewing Machines, this machine is stitch perfect and ready to go.

It comes with not only the beautiful original case and key but a host of extras including needles, attachments, instructions, thread,  and of course the signed book!
