Singer 28K – 1933
£269.00
This is exactly what many people picture when they think of a beautiful old Singer sewing machine.
Made in 1933, this lovely Singer 28K combines wonderfully ornate gold decoration, polished metalwork, a traditional hand crank and its original wooden base and Singer bentwood cover.
And more than 90 years later, it is still doing exactly what it was built to do – Sew beautifully.
The Singer 28K
Serial number Y9135986 identifies this machine as a Singer 28K from a production batch allotted on 4th December 1933.
That simplicity is a large part of the appeal of these machines. They are beautifully mechanical, immensely satisfying to use and make a wonderful choice for anyone wanting a genuine vintage sewing experience.
This particular example is especially attractive. The black finish is covered with elaborate gold Singer decoration, complemented beautifully by the engraved metal faceplate and wonderfully aged wooden base.
It retains the signs of a machine that has lived a genuine life rather than having been made artificially perfect – exactly as we like them.
