The Frister & Rossmann Sewing Machine company grew like a prairie fire in Berlin to become one of the largest sewing machine makers in the entire world. This particular machine was one imported into the UK by the W. Pierssene distributors in London. It proudly wears their agents badge to beautifully accompany it’s vibrant and stunning original colourful decals.
This particular machine was one of a few sold by Joseph Johnson & Company Ltd – outfitters, drapers and furnishers in the beautiful, historic city of Leicester in the East Midlands of England which historically had a strong association with the production of textiles, clothing and shoes.
The iconic Joseph Johnson & Co building later became one of the famous Fenwick stores and is now home to the luxury Gresham Aparthotel, that’s right, you can still visit (and stay at!) the beautiful site once one of the beating hearts of the textile industry in the UK.
This special Frister & Rossmann is from the Sewalot Collection!
The machine comes with lots of extras including beautiful original case, key, tools, thread, attachments, VSMUK Frister & Rossmann notepad and of course the signed book, see pictures. A few of the usual tiny pin marks but all in fantastic condition and very original!
An amazing addition to any collection.
