Essex Miniature Mk1 – Circa 1950

£149.00

Here we have a beautiful and very sweet Essex Miniature Mk1 Circa 1950, full perfect working order and professionally serviced by Sussex Sewing Machines.

this machine is in BEAUTIFUL condition and comes with the extension bed and table clamp.

The Essex Miniature Sewing Machine was manufactured by the Essex Engineering Works. They had their premises at 12 Nelson Road, Wanstead, London, E11. In 1950 their telephone was… Wanstead 2833… how brilliant is that, straight out of an Ealing studio picture.

The Essex was never sold as a toy but as a proper small sewing machine capable of excellent results. The machine produces a simple single thread chain stitch. Easy to operate and simple to use it was a dream for kids and adults the country over.

Along with this fantastic Essex Mini, you will also receive a signed copy of the ‘A Brief History Of The Sewing Machine’ book by Alex Askaroff.

The machine comes with lots of extras including case, instructions, thread, needles, G clamp for table mounting, extension bed, pin cushions and sewing notions, see pictures.

Fantastic condition and an amazing addition to any collection.
